[NAIA Poll] Benedictine (Kan.) Remains No. 2 After Blowout Win

Benedictine (Kan.) used a dominant rushing attack to hand Clarke (Iowa) a 73-14 loss, moving the Ravens record to 4-0 on the season. Benedictine rushed for 461 yards, and quarterback Shaefer Schuetz threw his first two touchdown passes of the season in the lopsided victory. The Ravens remain No. 2 in this week’s AFCA NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.

Morningside (Iowa) still sits No. 1, receiving all 17 first-place votes. The Mustangs are 3-0 after beating Midland (Neb.), 51-29. Saint Francis (Ind.), Kansas Wesleyan and Concordia (Mich.) round out the Top 5.

Ottawa (Kan.) and Rocky Mountain (Mont.) fell out of the Top 25, making room for two new teams this week. Keiser (Fla.) comes in at No. 24 after upsetting then-No. 8 Reinhardt (Ga.), 14-12. The Seahawks look to improve on their new ranking as they have one of three Top 25 matchups this week. Keiser will travel to No. 23 Cumberland (Tenn.) on Saturday. No. 25 Montana Tech is the final newcomer. The Orediggers are 2-1 on the season after beating Southern Oregon, 17-7. They face Montana State-Northern in their next game.

One of the other two Top 25 matchups is a Top 10 affair as No. 5 Concordia (Mich.) travels to No. 9 Saint Xavier (Ill.) in an important Mid-States Football Association crossover game. The final matchup is another crossover, but in the Heart of America Athletic Conference as No. 7 Grand View (Iowa) plays host to No. 12 Evangel (Mo.).
