[FCS Poll] UC Davis Up to No. 8 in AFCA FCS Top 25

UC Davis’ Trent Tompkins scored on a one-yard touchdown run with 27 seconds left to help give the Aggies a 17-14 victory over conference rival and then-No. 15 ranked Weber State. The win moved UC Davis up two places to No. 8 in the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The loss dropped Weber State to No. 19.

No. 1 Sam Houston won a Top 25 battle of their own, handing then-No. 24t Central Arkansas a 45-35 loss. The Bearkats received all but two first-place votes and will face Stephen F. Austin on Saturday. The rest of the Top 5 remained the same with James Madison at No. 2, South Dakota State at No. 3, Montana at No. 4 and North Dakota State at No. 5.
There are three Top 25 matchups this coming weekend with the biggest being a Top 10 battle in the Big Sky Conference as No. 4 Montana travels to No. 6 Eastern Washington for the Governors Cup. Montana leads the all-time series 28-17-1, but Eastern Washington has won six of the last eight meetings.
