[D3 Poll] North Central Moves to No. 2 in AFCA Division III Coaches’ Poll

North Central (Ill.) continued their winning ways with a dominate 58-6 win over Augustana (Ill.), jumping the Cardinals up two spots to No. 2 in this week’s AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Cardinals, who are 3-0 and will travel to Carroll (Wis.) for next weekend’s game, received 19 first-place votes.

Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.) maintained their No. 1 rank after coming from behind to beat then-No. 6 Hardin-Simmons (Tex.), 34-28. The Crusaders were down 28-7 at halftime but pitched a shutout in the second half to erase the deficit. Wisconsin-Whitewater, Mount Union (Ohio) and St. John’s (Minn.) round out the Top 5.
There are four newcomers in this week’s poll in No. 22 Whitworth (Wash.), No. 23 Hobart (N.Y.), No. 24 Albion (Mich.) and No. 25 Susquehanna (Pa.). Hobart gets to test their new ranking as the Statesmen travel to No. 15 Ithaca (N.Y.) in a big Liberty League battle.
