[D3 Poll] Mount Union Keeps Rolling in AFCA Division III Coaches’ Poll

Mount Union (Ohio) used a dominant defense to beat Otterbein (Ohio), 55-0. The Purple Raiders allowed just five first downs in the first half while the offense scored six times to run out to a 42-0 lead at half. Mount Union is ranked No. 4 in this week’s AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll and will travel to Wilmington (Ohio) on October 9.

North Central (Ill.) is the new No. 1 team this week with 21 first-place votes. The Cardinals dominated Carroll (Wis.), 62-7. Mary Hardin-Baylor, who dropped to No. 2 despite having 23 first-place votes, also won big, blanking Austin College (Tex.), 56-0. Wisconsin-Whitewater and St. John’s (Minn.) kept their same spots at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively.
There are only two Top 25 matchups on tap this coming week with the first being a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference battle as No. 6 Wisconsin-Oshkosh travels to No. 20 Wisconsin-La Crosse. The second is a big game in the Northwest Conference as No. 7t Linfield (Ore.) plays host to No. 21 Whitworth (Wash.).
