[D2 Poll] Texas A&M-Commerce Wins Top 10 Showdown In AFCA Division II Coaches Poll
October 8, 2018
Categories: Coaches Poll, Division II,
It took two days to finish because of weather delays, but Texas A&M-Commerce handed conference rival and then-No. 4 Midwestern State (Texas) its first loss of the season. On Saturday, the game was postponed at halftime in a 10-10 tie. Because Texas A&M-Commerce couldn’t find lodging within two hours of Wichita Falls, Texas, on Saturday night, the game was moved to Denton, Texas, and played at the University of North Texas. The Lions held on for a 20-19 victory when Midwestern State’s last-second field goal try went wide right. The Lions move up to No. 7 with the win while the Mustangs drop to No. 12.
