Categories: Coaches Poll, Division II,
The Top 24 teams in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll all won this past week, making for very little movement in the poll. Valdosta State (Ga.) survived a close game with North Greenville (S.C.), coming away with a 20-15 victory to preserve their top spot for another week. Ferris State (Mich.), Minnesota State, Tarleton State (Texas) and Ouachita Baptist (Ark.) round out the Top 5.

There are still 14 undefeated teams in Division II after eight weeks of play, and they are all ranked in the Top 17 of the poll. A few of them will put their perfect records on the line against one another as there are two Top 25 matchups to look forward to in week 9. The biggest is for the top spot in the South Atlantic Conference as No. 7 Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) plays host to No. 12 Wingate (N.C.). Both teams are 8-0 and the winner will clinch at least a share of the conference crown.

The second matchup has 8-0 and No. 17 Kutztown (Pa.) traveling to No. 22 West Chester (Pa.). Kutztown looks to keep the top spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division while West Chester hopes to get a win and produce a three-way tie for the top spot.

The only newcomer to this week’s poll is No. 25 Truman State (Mo.). The Bulldogs were ranked No. 24 two weeks ago but fell out after a loss to Lindenwood (Mo.). Truman State has won two in a row since that loss and has a 7-1 overall mark.
