[D2 Poll] Colorado State-Pueblo Rebounds In Upset Of Texas A&M-Commerce

One week after dropping a disappointing loss to a conference rival, Colorado State-Pueblo rebounded with a 24-17 upset win over then-No. 11 Texas A&M-Commerce. The ThunderWolves scored the winning touchdown early in the fourth quarter, then its defense pitched a shutout for the rest of the game to maintain the lead. CSU-Pueblo moves up two spots to No. 18 in this week’s AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.

Valdosta State (Ga.) remains in the top spot after a 44-7 victory over Shorter (Ga.). Ferris State (Mich.), Minnesota State, Tarleton State (Texas) and Notre Dame (Ohio) round out the top five.

There are two Top 25 matchups this coming week, with the first being a big game in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) as No. 3 Minnesota State plays host to No. 12 Minnesota-Duluth. Both teams are 4-0 and at the top of their respective divisions in the NSIC. The second matchup has No. 4 Tarleton State (Texas) hosting newly ranked No. 23 Angelo State (Texas). The Rams jumped into the poll for the first time since October 19, 2015 after beating then-No. 15 Midwestern State (Texas), 28-6, and moving its record to 4-0.

The other newcomer to this week’s poll is No. 24 Kutztown (Pa.). The Golden Bears are 4-0 after beating Shepherd (W.Va.), 34-27.
