[FCS Poll] No. 2 Kennesaw State Survives Overtime Thriller In Top 10 Showdown

Kennesaw State took a 60-52 lead over then-No. 7 Jacksonville State in the fifth overtime thanks to a 13-yard touchdown run by Darnell Holland. On the ensuing possession, Owls linebacker Bryson Armstrong intercepted a Jacksonville State pass in the end zone to preserve the victory. With the win, Kennesaw State keeps their No. 2 ranking in the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, while the Gamecocks fall to No. 9.

North Dakota State ends the regular season ranked in the same place they began, at No. 1. The Bison are one of two undefeated teams left in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Division I Football Championship. Rounding out the Top 5 behind Kennesaw State are Eastern Washington, Weber State and South Dakota State. All of the Top 5 teams earned a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 8 Princeton capped its first undefeated season since 1964 with a 42-14 win over Penn, also taking the 2018 Ivy League title. This was the Tigers’ first outright Ivy League championship since 1995.

Two new teams enter the Top 25 for the first time this season – No. 24 Montana State and No. 25 UIW. They will face off against each other in the first round of the playoffs as the Bobcats host the Cardinals on November 24.
