[FCS Poll] Weber State Contributes To Wild Upset Filled Weekend

In a weekend filled with upsets, Weber State refused to be left out. The Wildcat’s 14-6 victory over then-No. 3 Eastern Washington set the tone for the day. Weber State rode its victory to a season high No. 9 ranking in the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, while Eastern Washington dropped five spots to No. 8. The Wildcats will look to make it two in a row next week against Montana State. Eastern Washington will take its bye week before facing off against Idaho on October 27.

Winners of six straight games this season, North Dakota State gathered all 26 first-place votes for the fifth-straight week. Kennesaw State remains at No. 2 following their 56-17 victory over Gardner-Webb. The Top 5 is rounded out by South Dakota State, Jacksonville State and James Madison, respectively.

Week 8 will bring a trio of Top 25 matchups. The first will pin Missouri Valley Conference rivals against each other when No. 1 North Dakota State plays host to No. 7 Illinois State. Next up, Southern Conference opponents will face off as No. 12 Wofford hosts No. 21 East Tennessee State. In the final matchup, No. 23 Rhode Island will travel to New York to take on No. 17 Stony Brook.
