[D3 Poll] Wheaton Jumps To No. 17 In The AFCA Division III Coaches Poll

Wheaton scored a (Ill.) 52-30 victory over then-No. 5 North Central (Ill.) making them the biggest mover in the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll this week, jumping seven spots to No. 17. The Thunder’s win moves North Central down 13 spots to No. 18.

Wesley (Del.) moves into the Top 5 after defeating South Virginia, 28-7. Holding steady ahead of the Wolverines are No. 1 Mount Union (Ohio), No. 2 Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.), No. 3 St. Thomas (Minn.) and No. 4 Brockport (N.Y.).

Linfield (Ore.), Franklin & Marshall (Pa.) and Wisconsin-La Crosse drop out of this week’s Top 25, moving three new teams in. Central (Iowa) now holds the No. 23 ranking after a dominating 62-20 win over Buena Vista (Iowa), while No. 24 Whitworth (Wash.) handed then-No. 14 Linfield a 19-14 loss. Johns Hopkins (Md.) beat Ursinus (Pa.), 52-6, and comes in at No. 25.
There are four key matchups this weekend within the Top 25, with two of them being Top 10 games; No. 2 Mary Hardin-Baylor hosting No. 6 Hardin-Simmons (Tex.), while No. 5 Wesley hosts No. 8 Frostburg St. (Md.).
